While at Janet:

Bedding & Toiletries

Blankets, sheets, and pillows have been provided for each bed. The pull-out couch bedding is located in the Starfish Room closet.


Hand soap and starter rolls of both paper towels and toilet paper have also been provided.

Lock Access

 Keys for the back door are on the hook at the front door. Your  access code to the front door is the last 4 digits of the phone number you registered with. 

Lost keys are $25

Drug Policy

Smoking, vaping, or other recreational drug use is NOT permitted on the property, which includes the front and back yards.

Unavailable to renters

The shed and the closet off the living room are locked and unavailable for use by renters.

Barbecue Grill:

If you use the barbecue grill, it must be cleaned before leaving. Cleaning supplies can be found under the kitchen sink. 


Please let us know if you switch the tank so we can refill the replacement. 

Air Conditioning

Our system is brand new, and each room has its own unit and remote. If you are too cold, please turn up the thermostat; do not turn the system off. A comfortable temperature is about 73 degrees. 


Please keep all windows closed. The AC will keep you cool, and the salt air damages the interior of homes.

Washer & Dryer

Our washer and dryer are new; please do not overstuff them. We do not provide detergent.

Television

The TVs are ROKU with many free channels. If you have your own streaming preferences, you can log in to them to enjoy your favorite programs. 


Please log out of your accounts when you leave.

There are 6 beach badges in the small bathtub on the kitchen counter. Please remember to leave them on the counter before you leave. The pink bottle is greenhead spray for the beach.

garbage Pick up

Summer Seasonal Schedule: June 1st - September 30

Trash: Tuesdays & Fridays

Recycling: Mondays & Thursdays

All mandatory recyclable items, including mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, newspaper, magazines, brown paper bags, and chipboard (cereal/tissue boxes).


CLEANED AND RINSED commingled bottles, cans, and plastic containers may be placed loose in the same receptacle at the curb.


Please cover the garbage cans as the seagulls are aggressive. 

Parks and Recreation:

  • At the end of the road by the bay is the Holgate Residents and visitors’ park. There is a playground, an unguarded bay beach, a pickle ball court, and a basketball court. 

  • At Bay Village (approx. 2.5 miles up the island) is the Arcade, an amusement park and shops.

  • Follow the speed limits. Police love to give tickets to visitors. There are many bikers so keep your eyes open.

  • There is a bigger playground and many more pickle ball courts on Nelson and West. The pickle ball courts are free to use after 4PM.

Mark and Judy’s Recommendations:

  • Ice cream at WOO HOO

  • Breakfast at Uncle Will’s

  • Polly Dockside- a hidden gem for seafood. 

  • Mini Golf at the water park in Bay Village. 

  •  For a local experience try the Dockside Diner for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner

  • Free Wednesday night concerts at 7:30 at Veterans Park (Amber and Engleside)

  • Holiday Shack (Delaware and Center Street) - Great Pea soup, crispy chicken sandwich and fries. They also make amazing desserts.

  • Live Music at Tuckers Tavern Thursday-Saturday

  • Free Tunes by the Dunes (at the end of the island) every Thursday at 6:30 (you can walk there)

Closing Guidelines

Strip sheets and pillowcases on all beds that you used and place them in the tub.

Place dirty dishtowels in the tub.

Clean and cover the grill.

Log out of any streaming apps you logged in to.

Clean the refrigerator.

Remove all toiletries from the shower and bathroom.

Take out the garbage and recycling.

Put all six beach badges in the cup on the counter.

Leave keys on the hooks by the front door.

Lock the door on your way and text us when you are leaving so we can get the house ready for the nex

Turn on the dishwasher if there are any dirty dishes.

Please use the supplies under the sink and Swiffer and vacuum in the closet to leave the house in the same condition you found it.
